A Dream of a Sunset
By Justine C. Tajonera
I learned the odds of
losing,
a fifty percent chance
was not just a statistic
it was measured in
lives.
we sat together
in a small room,
meditating.
In my mind, we were
dressed in white,
kimonos or fencing
gear, I could not
say.
We were facing
a lake,
watching a
sunset.
And what was so
remarkable was that
there were
four of
us and not just
three.
I can still hear the wind
and feel the warmth
of the golden light.
