Common Kindness

I'm still in the office. Why am I still in the office? I don't know. Maybe I'm fulfilling my destiny. Maybe. Maybe it's because I needed to write this:

Common Kindness
(for C)

Walking with you to the
almost empty lot
I did not realize
your gratitude
for my plain
presence.

Darkness, solitude,
the puddled distance
from a crowded mall to
your car,
these things took on a shape
for you
that I did not fully
fathom.

Such a little thing, really.
Amiable company.
Nothing I would
think over.

But your profuse
thankfulness
reminds me
that common kindness
can be so
rare.

And yet
that simplest of gestures
can make
a sturdy bridge
across the widest
chasm.

So who is this C? Why did he/she think that you can protect him/her from muggers in the parking lot?

Let me guess. CA?
(As you can see, I am just trying to test my "Visionary Philosopher" powers...)

Haha. Na-intriga. Nope, CA is not right. Who is CA, anyway? The correct initials are CV and she's a girl. :)

Chinky Valcedo? Haha.
Why would it matter so much to you that this person was thanking you profusely? Why would the person thank you profusely over such a small thing?
Maybe this person is of such high stature that asking a commoner (who is not her slave) to accompany her to her car is already a huge deal. Hmm.

Update your blog, lazy girl! =)

Okay, okay I'm updating it. And C is Carmina or Chooey. :)
