Is up there

with death

and taxes

and you take me

through it

patiently.

In this case,

I’m just

the brawn.

“This is how

we do it,

Mommy.”

I’m glad

for the

reversal,

glad for the

smell of

clean

clothes,

glad for time

with you

as if

this is a

leisurely

walk

at dusk.
