Tanuki
I stand for mischief
and play and
change.
I stand for fortune
and luck
by your
door.
But, mostly,
you will not
find me
at all.
Like all things
you touch
and turn
into
symbol
I belong
in that other
world
where
brother fox
and sister
bird don’t
know
what they
cost.
