I remember my lessons
from Philosophy
about this thing
called Politics.

I had come to
the conclusion
that power
corrupts.

But what I had
failed to grasp
was that politics
did not mean
"those in
power" but
the power
of the public
space.

Before you,
the people,
I leave
my hearth
for today
to declare:
that I am
responsible
for my hope
and the choices
that I make.
