The Oracle

By Justine C. Tajonera

Know thyself:
it is inscribed at the entrance
of an ancient
temple in Greece.

Know your limits
and your
freedoms.

Know the lies you have told
and the thruths
you have
declared.

Know your body,
your mind,
your heart
and your
soul.

Know your strengths
and your weaknesses.

Know your words
and the thoughts
in your head.

Know that what you
remember
and what you forget
make up the life
that you love
or
regret.

The clarity of
the image that
you sculpt,
this life of yours,
is of your own
making.

Know it,
the oracle
says.
